2019 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

It was a big shock last year when Toyota announced that it would be leaving the Grand Prix of Long Beach as its title sponsor, which it has been for the last 39 years. But in February of this year, Acura stepped up and assumed the role as the title sponsor for this historic event. Acura has some very big shoes to fill, but everything went smoothly as it is still run by the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach.
In addition to the main IndyCar race, there were other races such as the IMSA and historic IMSA GTO, Pirellli GT4 America, Stadium Super Trucks and the Motegi Super Drift Challenge at night.  The various races provided a variety of cars and racing styles from cars getting the fastest times, trucks that launch 20+ feet in the air, to 1000 hp drift cars going sideways and getting within inches of imposing concrete track barriers.

Congratulations to Alexander Rossi (Andretti Autosport) for his 2nd consecutive win at the Indy race at Long Beach.  Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) took in 2nd and Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) came in 3rd place.
